I'm pretty sure Diet along with lousy posture is to be blamed for my recession. I also got recessive ortho done to fix an overbite when I should've gotten jaw surgery. I'm getting mse + face mask soon to revert my recession a bit but I don't think much will change tbh. Honestly I don't think my side profile is that detrimental considering that everyone these days is recessed. If you're in the same boat as me ur chilling bc at least we both got decent base line.
