The guy said they only do about 4 mm advancements, though the results look pretty good. Thoughts?

It doesnt make that big impact on the front, unless they have a really long or short chin.
Im recessed from the side but I actually have a slightly tall chin, so if I would to get bimax they wouldn't change the length of the chin, just move it forward.

It doesnt make that big impact on the front, unless they have a really long or short chin.

No it makes your chin smaller the more they advance it. Its perspective and studied in art when you move an object forth and back.

What??? How is it gonna be smaller? If u bring a object closer to the eyes/camera it appears bigger. Similarly if u jut ur jaw forward it looks longer/bigger.. how can it be smaller?

it will only be smaller if u move it vertically downwards - it will look more pointy, you would need to make a cut in the middle and increase the width as well if you go for vertical lengthening.

Idk really about that, in all the front before & after where they put the lower jaw forward, the chin looks bigger.
So you have any photo examples?

it gets narrower if you move it vertically downwards, basic physics.

Now ur talking about moving the chin downwards, I was speaking about moving forwards and speaking about the chin length, u are speaking about the chin width. So what does someone with a long/pointy chin need that is also setback?

you can do all 3 movements with a genio, forward, downwards and width, although a more complex one.
