How do u know the errors are random? Subjectivity introduces that one guy can perma-underrate/overrate, so the averages would be biased.. compared to another person with biased averages, but then this bias doesn't mirror the first guys bias, so they dont cancel out. There could be a bias of bias of all people
It becomes more inconsistent

People both systemically over and under rate as well as have random error

It would reduce the random error component

It is but basically anyone would be a better rater if they thought about all the factors that go into attractiveness and then thought about where that person is on each factor relative to others.

if someone’s systemically overrating everyone even after that you could just see what his average rating of someone is and then shift it over to get it to be a 5. So maybe he has a bell curve of rates centering at 6 instead of 5, but it’s going to be closer to a normal distribution than if someone just eyeballs every rate

its similar to a fermi problem
