No his midface is fine, it's just his cheekbones are invisible because his mouth area is protruded so far

that's not how it works, why would his mouth have an effect on how his cheekbones look? his mandible is retruded, his midface is nicely short and wide, but it is downward. the cheekbones are always at about the same tilt as the maxilla (becuase they're directly connected) and downward tilted cheekbones are what gives him this look. they look big and wide but undefined.
