Isn't his maxilla recessed? Why is the nasal aperture so deep into the face like East Asians?

If it ain't recessed, low Chad. If it's recessed, low Cl.
what's the difference if you can't tell at a first glance

you can tell at a first glance if it were not pictures, as one can fraud.

but you have to obviously have knowledge about this particular recession.

and if you dont have knowledge about it, it subconciously still affects your inner biological perception of the appearance of the person because if that recession were not present then he'd have looked better.

interesting, where do you read to pick this knowledge up?

true, i'm not the greatest at spotting recession without measuring that's for sure.

Midface looks flat though

According to this specific topic, there's a BOTB thread by "thecel" called "Upper Maxillary Projection is the key to aesthetics" or something along those lines, I'd suggest you read that.

It helps you differentiate between just nasal aperture recession vs actual maxillary recession (which has two cases, either underbite where the bite is class 3 malocclusion OR both jaws being recessed thus the skull is recessed but occlusion is still class 1).

You're welcome,

I used to have 1800 (chess.com) when I played, it has been like almost 3 years since I played regularly so probably have fallen quite a bit.

what do you believe the best surgical option is when it comes to both jaws being recessed? this is the case for me I can probably get the double jaw covered as well but should I pay out of pocket? i'm considering telling them small movements wouldn't be sufficient bringing it over towards aesthetic and pay for titanium plates/screws, would there be any difference?

That's great, when was the last time you've played - I wonder how much my skill level has dropped by now, as I expected around 1600 maybe an year ago.

Definitely would love to play with you if I get back into it regularly.
