There are 10 recognised sects of the religion so I think some are not as strict about the hair thing but I think the main reason is fitting into modern society. Catholics shouldn’t have tattoos nor should they be having sex before marriage amongst other things but it becomes increasingly difficult considering the trajectory society is taking.

Most Pashtuns in India are Oashtun only by ancestry and don’t even speak Pashto. Also there are some Indians that have last name Khan but are not Pashtuns which is weird.

yeah khan is just a title, it doesnt belong to only pashtuns lol there are lots of punjabis with last name being khan. my cousin is half pashtun half pothwari and he speaks all three languages fluently. (urdu, pashto and pothwari)
