It makes actually perfect sense, since baldness is unattractive, bald men should have slowly disappeared, but because the baldness gene is transmitted through the mothers but it's not active in them, the bald men will keep popping for as long humanity will exist.

It's highly likely that the baldness gene came through the grandmother, sometimes if only girls are born and they marry men with hair, the baldness gene is still transmitted throughout the generations and only when a male is born it gets to manifest itself, so it would seem weird that you have all these ancestors with hair and suddenly a man who goes bald seems to appear out of nowhere in the family tree.
