Bait title but bear with me and before you get your pitchforks and try to lynch me, ratios aren’t useless, but they’re massively overrated.
Looks are subjective, even if they have some objective anchors. Ratios are objective measurements, but applying them doesn’t magically make attraction more objective. You’re still measuring something people experience visually and intuitively.
Normies don’t fully recognize pfl, eme, fwhr, whatever. They see attractive or not. Once you’re in hhtn/hhtb territory, the differences become visually negligible especially to normies (though yes foidlets having ego and niggas being overly thirsty can lead to massive underrates/overrates). But yall even try to get mad at normies for not recognizing widely agreed chads but you really can't because those are who we're trying to appeal to anyway.
Chads, Tyrones, Changs, etc are just archetypes. You can put side-by-side photos of widely agreed upon htns, cls, and chads but there's inconsistency in ratings with huge things like status, coloring, and personal preference taking over, along with some things like averageness, frauding, and whatnot. Most ratings aren’t even independent judgments. They’re consensus driven. People say x mogs y for the purpose of saying someone x mogs y and not because that x mogs. Popularity, familiarity, and social reinforcement do far more work than ratios ever do. The precision people pretend to have is fake.
Arguing over who looks better is tarded and jewish anyway but to go a step further with ratios nd shi like cmon brotha how can you be so lost.
In women too: makeup, angles, horny men, and social bias lead to constant overrating and the most tranny looking, malnourished, non childbearing, infertile woman is called "true eve." Again, add lighting, angles, makeup, styling, and general presentation, put them in motion, and suddenly all your favorite PSLs collapse into the same tier.
A possible counterargument is like:
“Even if you can’t see it, ratios still matter because we can measure them.”
But that’s like deciding the best fruit by sugar content, yield per seed, or climate adaptability. Going back to my old point, those are objective metrics (sugar amount, yield, adaptation) applied to a subjective preference (best fruit). They can be descriptive, but they’re not decisive. The margins are too thin to matter visually in the point for faces.
