When I ate my raw wild pink salmon (gorbusha), which is less expensive than normal salmon but still pretty expensive, it felt like a waste, because it's only low medium level inherently tasty, which is better than mackerel but still, because no fish is tasty except normal salmon really, but now, adding sour cream to it, it's super super super delicious.
The combination is insane, how much it amplifies the taste of fish, it makes it entire multiple times tastier (in the exact particular taste of the fish itself).
I better it'd work with herring too.
I wouldn't trust it on mackerel though, it needs mustard for real.
