Since i dropped this thread many people asked me if I had any readymade projects that they could copy and larp claiming it's their own. Damn you nighas are so lazy. Literally allergic to hardwork. Anyway before I dozed off on Jewish pain killers I looked some of them up and found a few open source projects that fit the criteria

1. Al Document Search (RAG Chatbot)
Chat with PDFs using LLM + semantic search

-Frontend: React, Tailwind
-Backend: FastAPI
-Al: OpenAl, LangChain
-Vector DB: Pinecone / FAISS
-Deploy: Vercel + Docker

2. Al Code Review Bot:GitHub bot that auto-reviews PRs using GPT

-Backend: Python (FastAPI)
-Al: GPT-4/ Claude
-GitHub API + Actions
-Cl/CD: GitHub Actions

3. Custom Al Agent with Memory
Voice/text assistant with long-term memory

-Backend: Python (LangChain)
-Al: OpenAI, Whisper
-Memory: Redis / ChromaDB
-Frontend: Streamlit / Next.js

Here they are ready made projects that you can put on your resume without breaking a sweat. Literally spoon feeding months of work. You have 0 excuses now. If you still can't do it. Just end it tbh. You can larp about these projects being yours but dont come crying back if you get roasted in interviews tho.

How about cs when will the big bucks come
Nobody knows how the future will be, it used to be that some 16 year old could spend all his time learning programming languages, skills, getting really good and by the time he graduates from uni, he's so far ahead of his peers and instantly gets bagged up by a top company with a high salary and by the time he's mid to late 20s he's making good money, 30 is where it just skyrockets for him. But things will be different now due to A.I and other things. I don't have a cs degree which makes it practically impossible for me to even get a job in the field.

Almost immediately. Within a few years you can job switch and earn deep six figures salaries. Tech salaries scale very steeply, you could also build a startup and become literally a billionaire in few years but that's very rare obviously.

I know but atleast you know you have a career/future unlike tech
Why no future? There's so many opportunities out there and so many careers in Tech. It's inexhaustive

No. CS jobs don't always require a degree. Many people I know have never stepped foot into uni but still got hired

They do here, every job i've seen always wants cs or similar degree, these people you speak of why did they get hired? what did they possess exactly?

There's a lot of uncertainty, even now the tech industry is quite bad. Lots of techies lost their jobs and downgraded to low level positions thus driving out people who are actually entry level. How many tech guys are unemployed? must be record numbers

They got hired because they had proof of skill. projects, internships, open source contributions, freelance work, and then networked their way from there to jobs with referrals, connections and job fairs. A CS degree makes the process easier but it's not mandatory.

brutal, sounds like a huge hassle and difficult

Nigga whoโ€™s telling you all this? Doom posts from X and YouTube? Tech isnโ€™t dead at all there was a correction after the COVID over hiring especially with companies being cautious about Al investments so the market feels tighter, but itโ€™s far from record unemployment. Most layoffs were mid/senior roles and even those people usually get rehired within a few months. Entry level roles still exist. The industry that is actually doomed is the one built on hype cycles not core tech.

how come u didnt tag me in this goldmine thread :feelscry:

also a recruiter said rag is outdated

so i might rec something else
He doesn't know. RAG isn't outdated at all. Companies literally use it every day because it solves the core problem of grounding LLMs wi What's outdated is the basic RAG with no chunking logic no reranking, and no evaluation that is indeed outdated
