Realistic wife/husband bots are necessary for the advancement of society

The technology to create machines capable of replicating human companionship is the final and hardest step to a true post scarcity society. This, along with free food, housing and medicine would be the complete liberation of man from nature. I don't think it would make people lazy but rather do the opposite. People would actually be able seek to focus on higher goals as they would not longer be worn down from having to work to fulfill basic needs. Me personally, if I had a wifebot to talk to and sleep with and didn't have to worry about food and housing, I would suddenly find I had the energy and drive to study shit like math and physics. Its the drudgery of struggling to get by that destroys the progress of the individual and in turn society.
