I recently watched Rick and Morty season 9 episode 7 (latest episode)
It’s very strange if you know about the theory of Loosh harvesting it seems very odd
First of all they get taken by an all powerful being to a world he’s created as a prison, they are reincarnated as bacteria and slowly die, reincarnate, evolve, etc… over time. It is revealed that all the energy of their soul from their life is released when they die and fuels the powerful creature that keeps them imprisoned.
Then In this world different religions form which view the creature as some kind of caring overlord who wants to “test” them somehow, even though he is evil and simply keeps them for their energy.
This is pretty much identical to many ideas people have written about spiritual experiences with entities and all the “Loosh” theories.
Either Rick and Morty is based off/inspired by these theories or they know something we don’t. Think about all the Simpson episodes with weirdly accurate predictions, not to mention all the other popular media predictions which couldn’t have just been coincidence.
