Ofc, dogs are one of the earliest domesticated animals and earliest dog were very wolf look alike they were inbred to reduced aggression, increased sociability, and adaptability to human environments. Which still retaining feroisty and useful wolf like trait like herding, guarding
overall it was great choice to make a useful tool without any Backfiring traits
