Downgrown =/= long midface. Thats what you're describing. Vertical maxillary height is how long your midface is, thats all, being downgrown is how the lower jaw grew, not the upper jaw.

i didn't say downgrown is equal to long face. you can have long face due to close set eyes rather than downward growth. being downgrown is CAUSED by vertical maxilla's height because it displaces the lower jaw more lower.
