Symmetry is the biggest reason if there is no lens distortion.
asymmetry in a still 2d photo is really repulsive to look at

some asymmetries can look like actual deformities in pictures but in real life it doesnt matter/ doesnt stand out

But u can’t fraud irl so feel most people on here look worse irl

explain how can some ppl look better in selfie, and not in video - made by the same bad camera tho

depends on what you are frauding, but if you know a guy who is goodlooking in real life but u see a picture and he looks alot uglier, most likely due to asymmetry
Lens distortion and lighting.
not all pictures have lens distortion, even if you are at good distance, using back camera and have good lighting, assymetrical faces will still look alot worse in the photo than in irl

so what do you think ?

some people look better in selfies due to lens distortion because of their face proportions,
but majority of the time lens distortion makes people look worse
edit: you will look alot like ur irl self in selfies if ur flat faced aka dont have a projecting face like nose etc and you are symmetrical

I look decent in ID pics too.

Good insight - I think masculine features have a high probability on looking worse in selfie but better IRL, while low masc features can look better in selfie but more weak/less defined IRL. Just a vague theory I have.

masculine features do look worse in selfies, like a more projected nose bridge, it just makes the distortion that much worse

i don't know tbh my case is somehow unique it looks like, i have high T feature, but looks worse in video than in selfie or even professionnal pic.
It's odd

Op is right . Simmetry is very very important

High IQ. The most acceptable thing to fraud in photos is symmetry

yeah for that it's true, the nose looks worse, and overall it gives me an average midface while it's actually compact.
But for the bones it gives it better, may be it's bc i'm still high BF

we all have assymetries tbh

Indeed, high iq

i have a 1.0 midface and my selfies makes my face look elongated

which is where taking pictures from slight off angles comes in

but still i hate it when i take video with the same "selfie" camera, it's like i'm a legit subhuman.
i always hope that videos taken by phones aren't that accurate tbh. But i cope may be

if true lifefuel tbh.
The autism is so high that i even do mirror comparison with friends to have the certainty that it's both what we see.

I thought I looked better in person but the repulsion I saw in the eyes of my date is making me think otherwise now.

Just how much does the phone camera increase the perception of asymmetry? Having a hard time understanding why I look like a fucking Picasso painting in front camera selfies by I look good in group photos via camera.

Just here to see the cope gifs :feelsokman:

TBH I think it was mostly because I was acting like an autist, it is what it is.

idk tbh when I look in the mirror my face looks very symmetrical and overall better than a photo but notihing crazy. are you saying that those smaller assymetries u see in the camera are much harder to eyeball irl? I would have to agree because in general I've never seen a assymetrical face unless they had a serious deformity. but at the end of the day the face is a whole and viewed as such; it's kinda stupid to get hung up on one part of it or one side of it.
