Too many incelfags are ill informed on this.

This is what a receding chin looks like:

As you can see, his jaw is positioned forward and doesn’t “touch” his airway. His chin, however, does not line up with the incisors of his lower teeth. We therefore have, a small (not recessive) mandible.

This is what a receding jaw looks like:

His chin lines up perfectly with the lower incisors.
His mandible, however, seems to “touch” his airway in this case. It’s not forwardly grown. Also, he seems to have a bit of an overbite.
