How can you tell the difference?

A recessed jaw but cleft chin you will still have somewhat of a definition in the lower third but it will be recessed when talking or eating and normies won’t notice if they didn’t study looks theory.

Recessed jaw but not chin = kinda weird looking but mostly people can't pinpoint what the problem is, ur gonna have a deep mental fold (which isn't necessarily bad)

check from lips
if you have recessed chin your lips will protrude over your chin.
if you have recessed jaw you most likely with have shit definition even at low bf%

Recessed chin is when your chin slopes back and so has a bad shape like this

But the rest of the jaw could still be fine.

Recessed mandible is when the mandible isn’t forward grown normally and usually recessed chin and other bones comes with it so I couldnt get an example where only the mandible is recessed but u get the point

His chin is like pitts but the rest of the mandible is also sloped back unlike Pitt.
I think ppl itt took recessed jaw to mean that the mandible isn’t as far forward as the maxilla but that’s not the same. as u can see Barrett has that but he has good forward growth.
