I have a class II skeletal recession in my mandible.
When jutting/slightly intentionally pushing jaw forward my lower third looks extremely proportional and genuinely good, but when relaxed and/or biting I look borderline deformed and underdeveloped as shit.

- on HGH and TRT as we speak so bone growth will be intensified with orthodontic appliances mildly. -> growth plates still open and 16y11m old, older end but plates are open so shouldn't interfere.

Orthodontic appointment in about 3 weeks, how do I efficiently larp certain health problems that come with a recessed mandible to absolutely guarantee a Herbst appliance or something of the sort that's going to physically move my lower third into correct alignment, if I can't get a appliance at this appointment in 3 weeks, I will get surgery in a couple years to fix my jaw.

Genuinely big deal and I would love high iq tips on how to convince the ortho essentially, or if anything how could I larp my lower third being even worse to further drill it in and get the appliance. Thanks.

Hello, I have a very similar problem. I’ve had braces when I was 11-13 and my orthodontist only fixed my teeth (some of them were crooked) but not my bite (i also have skeletal class II recession in my mandible). Half a year ago (I’m 16,5y) I noticed my front teeth overlapping again. My mom took me to another orthodontist (we never liked the old one) and the new orthodontist said that I had a deepbite which also had to be fixed and thai I would need braced again. She told my mom what problems a deepbite could cause (she was just fear mongering) and of course my mom agreed on getting braces.

I know have damon braces on my upper teeth and soon I will also get them on the lower ones. She is not doing anything to change my mandble (i’ve tried to convince her to get something like a Herbst appliance, twin blocks, mara appliance, just something to fix my profile). She said I wouldn’t need something like that.

I‘m very interested if she is even going to fix my bite or just does the same shit as my old orthodontist. Like most of them just do it for the money. Maybe elastics when my lower teeth are also corrected? But I dont know if elastics can help that much.

I am forced to jutt 24/7 because I look so good while jutting. You just have to jutt the pain away. Maybe I will get bsso and / or genioplasty when I’m older and have the money.
Really hate that orthodontists steal my parents money. I feel really bad for them.

Sorry for my English if some things weren’t understandable. I really wish you the best ✌️❤️

Ah yes brother, very similar situation, so I ended up going to a 3rd ortho for the purpose of asking for the appliance and another no, they explained that it is simply a lack of vertical height in my mandible and nothing can be done through ortho. Brutal, yeah im very aware, but going to start mapping out what surgeries I shoulder consider and the costs soon, likely genioplasty with implants or BSSO. You may be in a similar situation. Unfortunate but it's life, best I can do now is everything else until I can safely afford surgeries in Turkey.
