At 11, an old-school orthodontist removed four healthy premolars because my maxilla was narrow and a molar couldn’t erupt. He first gave me a twin-block appliance, but my parents didn’t activate it properly, so it failed. Instead of fixing the underlying issue, he extracted the premolars to create space.
Now I’m 15 years and 1 month old and still in braces, which have restricted my maxillary forward growth. I saw a new orthodontist and told him I have nighttime breathing issues and that my tongue lacks space on my palate. He said treatment could include MARPE, reopening extraction spaces, and possibly reverse-pull headgear. However, he requires approval from my insurance (AOK Bayern, Germany) , which may involve diagnostics like X-rays, a sleep study, or an ENT (HNO) evaluation.
How do i larp these tests so i definitely get the treatment covered?
