Not a fan of horror but i might give em a chance
Do it.
The horror is more in the background and nuanced to make the story better.

I tried to play that piece of filth silent hill and it was just a walking simulator with shit graphics and then it got to the first enemy it was fucking horrible gameplay and the controls were shitty as well

No wonder, even though being the entree of the series it‘s regarded as one of the worst games from the silent hill franchise.
2-4 were the peak of the franchise.
