I thought I was going to be on a liquid only diet for 2 months. I thought I would have to mouth breathe for a long time and that I would still be giga swollen by now.
But as it turns out...
From the 4th day on I could already breathe through my nose effortlessly.
I was on a liquid diet for only 10 days.
Day 12 and I’m already eating soft things like lasagna and cake.
Most of the swelling is gone as well, when I put a mask on and go outside no one even notices there’s something different.
I can already talk almost normally too, sleeping is fine as well…
I just can’t do much physical effort yet, my face is still quite swollen, and I can’t open my mouth that wide or chew harder foods.
Oh yeah, also the elastics. I have to wear elastics on my braces whenever I’m not eating or brushing my teeth. They are a pain the ass.
My surgeon said it’s necessary to hold everything in place while the bone is consolidating. Otherwise the body will try to go back to the previous state that it was used to. But I only have to wear these elastics on the first month.
But other than that it’s already pretty normal.
