For redlight masks many companies provide eye protection, but I don't know what exact affect they have on the eyes

What about green LED light? It is supposed to lighten hyperpigmentation.

Or maybe it's yellow light, around 580nm. I am finding conflicting information.

Everything online says that blue increases melanin, if anything
In skin vs in iris are very different

As an analogy think of skin melanocytes like a bakery thats always open always making new cookies (melanin) when more people (light) arrives, the bakers work overtime to make more cookie

Now iris melanocytes is a warehouse full of pre made cookies, made a long time ago, and now the warehouse just stores them, even if more peopke (light) shows up, the warehouse doesnt start baking again, it just sits there with its static supply of cookies

What ur doing with blue light is destroying the cookies (melanin granules), without restocking, which the dormant melanocytes wouldnt do anyways

This is only for a very claibrated blue light, since staring at the sun will darken ur eyes

Do you have any evidence of blue light destroying the existing melanin? I really cannot find much on it.

Doesn't work, my room has had red lights for 2 years now and they're still as black as a nigger

By this logic shouldn’t everyone be walking around with a10s from staring into their blue lighted phones for so long?

so is that why people in the northern (norway, sweden finland etc) have brighter eyes? especially during winter they almost have no daytime and very low light from the earth axial tilt. so that might explain there bright eyecolors? especially shining a10? lmk what you think

no, as the last thing i said in that comment “very calibrated” same reason why sun staring wont make ur eyes brighter

No, the reason they have blue eyes is from inbreeding over a millenia ago

humans developed blue eyes due to low sunlight exposure so id thought moving there might cause your body to adapt and you may get brighter eyecolor but this wouldnt work cuz eyecolor is partially toxin accumilation, bioaccumialtion and genetics ofc. so scrap it. who knows tho it may work

Idk where u got the sunlight thing, blue eyes was a mutation in HERC2 and OCA2 from inbreedin

Also toxin bioaccumilation affects scleral brightness and iris clarity not eye color

But sunlight can make eyes darker if u stare at the sun every day for hours so maybe u could be right and this could some very indirect affect we havent found uet 🤷‍♂️
