Realistically though if you allow a few mm of proclination in the incisors and can expand the lower jaw near the bicuspids, you can get a similar result. It looks like jaw unhinged and was able to migrate forward a few mm, which isn't surgically necessary to accomplish.

But his browbone grew too, which adds to the mog. They say incisors chewing creates a more prominent brow, but I think what really happens is a midface shortening effect from the incisors coming forward and lifting the upper lip, decreasing the distance from the brow to the lip.

in my case if i retract fully and bite down vs if i bite in a more forwards position(lower incisors just slightly behind uppers) is quite noticable.

the act of chewing engages the muscles that holds the jaw and tongue up. chewing optimizes mewing. mewing increases palatal width, which allows the lower jaw to catch up and expand. the lower jaw is recessed almost always because the upper palate is too narrow.

Do you have a short face? Sounds like your maxillla may not be the issue but your lower arch may need expansion if that's the case

I myself had the issue but chewing in all directions has helped the lower jaw at least hold itself in a lower more comfortable position as opposed to a very tight almost clenched position.

Truth be told in many of these cases the guys may be holding their jaw too far back because the sagittal length of the maxilla may be low. But this may be a chicken and egg scenario. I think simply chewing correctly can help reposition the jaws.

However my case is a bit different since it was extractions that caused me to have a false overbite. They took out two premolars on the lower jaw to "fix" my underbite when they really should gave expanded the upper arch simply a few millimeters when I was a teen. Instead they just took out perfectly good aligned teeth.

@Serenityy in my case if I ever jutted like that the difference would be so negligible that it would not look like guy in the OP. Jutting the way you describe doesn't create "surgery tier" results, it just slacks the jaw a bit. But people are claiming this looks like surgery. Which for most people jutting that way wouldn't accomplish especially if the maxilla is not properly developed.

If simply touching your incisors together ascended people that much, jaw surgery wouldn't be necessary. You'd have incels with Chad jaws just from touching incisors which of course sounds highly unlikely.

Otoh if simply touching your incisors gives you amazing jaw definition and a Chad lower third then you have great maxilla development, and more than likely need to expand your lower arch significantly if it sits that deep behind. But cases like this seem incredibly rare imo. Jaw surgery would never have been thought of if people just needed to relax their jaw and touch their front teeth to look like moggers
