On Monday, Jan. 6, Nacogdoches police were called an apartment complex and found 26-year-old Cheyenne Russell good with multiple gunshot wounds. Police have linked Jorian Jackson, 29, to her death. Her two children are 3 and 4 years old — with Jackson being the biological pappy of one.

While her family characterized their relationship as abusive, they never anticipated it would lead to her death

“For the sake of the kids, we never thought he would take it this far,” Jennifer said. “He has hurt her several times throughout the last few years and she finally found her voice, and this time was done with him."

The Russells are determined to raise awareness about domestic violence, hoping their pain can help others who are suffering in silence
