a lot of people here take copious amounts of vit d someone even said they take 50k iu a day, im worried about hypercalcemia, the recommended UL is 4k iu a day

Would appreciate it if someone can explain the risks and whether taking more than 4kiu a day might cause issues in the long run

too much vitamin D is bad for kidneys and raises calcium levels too high
Would recommend just 2k iu a day and in the summer nothing

understood(y)

I’ve taken 16k even more some days consistently for a while no issues
is there really any difference in benefits from like 2k iu to higher doses like 16k iu ?

could you elaborate as to why
I’d say 5k a day is enough, but if you really wanna go for 10k do it.

I don’t think you’ll develop any of what u mentioned

Only megadose/ take big amounts if you are deficient. If you aren't then don't bother, you can still supplement it though.
