Why is it that everyone thinks that after death there is nothing? where did that idea even come from? I really don't know but something I've realized recently while thinking about that is that reincarnation is inevitable. So you're telling me there was nothing before I was born and after my death in this physical world there will be nothing again? why? why is it impossible for it to be something again? do you really want me to believe I'm only getting one shot at this? now I believe that you WILL reincarnate, NOBODY knows where or what you will reincarnate as though. No one knows how that part works but I have a theory that since you are now such an aware being as a human that you might just keep reincarnating as an aware one.
Now another topic is whether you reincarnated is really YOU to that I'll say that you will probably be completely different but that's completely random, so it won't be you in the sense of the way you are here, right now as you're reading this, but it will be YOUR awareness experiencing your next life.

First I don't think evolution contradicts reincarnation, second how would it be motivated my desire? desire to want to know what happens after death? maybe but I don't care about that much at this point in time. As for evidence like someone has mentioned before in this thread there is no evidence for anything related to what happens after death, except anecdotal experiences of those who experienced near death situations etc. I'm just saying it's very likely that reincarnation is inevitable but I don't necessarily WANT TO believe that because as I've said right now I don't care about what happens after death, and yes no belief can be sure to be correct

I’m not saying you want reincarnation to exist, I’m saying you want to think about it because it’s interesting. It’s similar to people who believe in aliens spying on us, maybe they don’t want that to be true, but they enjoy thinking about it because it’s interesting.

I’ve also said nothing about the compatibility between evolution and reincarnation. No one knows what will happen after death, and there is excellent evidence for evolution, but that doesn’t mean reincarnation doesn’t happen.

What my point was is that now that we understand things like evolution, there’s really no reason to believe in things like god or reincarnation, because evolution provides an explanation to life that we don’t have to just make up. Of course evolution is compatible with reincarnation or god, but from this knew perspective those things don’t seem probable based on evidence. Now is there great evidence that reincarnation doesn’t happen? Not really. But generally people will hold beliefs based on evidence that something is true rather than based on lack of evidence that it’s not true, because believing what’s not proven wrong would open the doors to believing an infinite number of scenarios, and so therefore it would be up to you which doors to walk through, and it would be solely arbitrary because they all have the same amount of evidence for/against them.

This is why I’ve never claimed reincarnation doesn’t happen. I don’t believe it exists. That doesn’t mean I believe it doesn’t exist. I don’t have any belief on this matter because it’s a random concept with no reason to think either way.
