It never worked. I’ve seen graphs that show that even when church attendance was much higher than it is now, not even 10% of couples met there.

It’s an intentionally desexualizing environment. So women who get into religion when they’re single are doing it mostly to raise their standards. They’re pickier than anyone.

I’d need to see some proof of that. What I’ve seen instead is that they go from “looks are enough” to “not even looks are enough”. Their looks requirement stays the same, but their behavior requirement goes through the roof. And when a woman starts doing this, it’s non-negotiable, she stops giving 99% or 100% of guys the chance.
