Thread song
Have you ever met a girl that made you feel like you were the main character of a romance movie? Someone that gave you the sense of wonder you had when you were a kid playing outside, when the colors felt brighter, less washed out, and there was a sense of mystical joy in even the smallest things? When it felt like there was so much ahead of you
Some people never find a girl like that. Others do, and lose them.
She wasn't the sweetest, she wasn't the most mature, and she definitely wasn't the most understanding one. But the handful of months i had with her were probably some of the most fun moments i've had in the past 6 years. It's hard to get over someone like that.
I think most guys dream of a girl like that. i don't think most men, deep down, want a super shy, giga submissive type of girl. One who never has an idea of her own, who is never spontaneous. That gets boring fast, trust me.
But there's this type of girl. The kind of girl that will grab your hand and lead the way through a crowd of people because she wants to show you something on a warm autumn afternoon.
The type that you know things won't last, and perhaps that's one of the reasons why it makes it beautiful, because you're aware of your limited time together. The impermanence of it all.
The type that you'll remember 10 years later
All the fun dates you had together.
That aquarium date when you asked her if she wanted to be your girlfriend. As you saw her face under the bluish light, and she smiled and said yes
That time when she grabbed your arm during a cable car ride because she was scared.
Maybe you loved the way she took you out of your monotonous life. Or how your routine with her started to take shape. And the more time you spent with her, the more you loved it. Waiting for her to leave work, knowing she would immediately call you as she walked back home. Long calls just gaming together. Watching shows, shows that you would never watch by yourself, but with her, they felt... different. You actually enjoyed them, strangely, somehow.
The intoxicating smell of her perfume mixed with her sweat. A smell so intense that it made you feel high.
Or perhaps you just loved the little sweet things that were unplanned and happened during dates. How she covered both your heads with her huge coat when it started to rain at night. How she would stay with you extra long because you missed your bus.
Whatever it was, life felt exciting. You actually wanted to wake up the next day and do it all over again.
But you won't find this type of vigor, this energetic, bubbly ball of sunshine of a girlfriend, in an older woman. This is reserved for the young.
What? You actually think she hasn't experienced all of this during her 20 previous relationships? Pack it up oldcel. You missed out on young love.
But if you're young and reading this, hurry. The time is ticking. And it won't wait for you.
@Big Boss Over for hopeless romantics like me?
