I was normally social first, then life fucked me over and I resorted to isolation which over time made me less and less social as I grew up. Still can make male friends easy and talk to girls like friends but the main problem is talking to girls with romantic/sexual intent since I have never explored this area of human dynamic.

The use of ‘aspie/NT’ in this forum is interesting in that it doesn’t necessarily track actual autism/ASD, ‘non-NT’ just sort of means something closer to ‘not wired to fit in well with the dominant culture’. I don’t think most people referred to here as ‘non-NT’ do the classic emotional splitting, or have trouble reading both social cues and things like body language or vocal tone (as is common with people on the spectrum).

I think your view is on point that there’s something about these guys that puts ‘normies’ off, as mainstream comments often point out a lot of the incel community that posts face ends up looking roughly equivalently attractive as many guys who get laid (with good-looking girls I might add). The problems are elsewhere: poor mental wiring (not fitting in, depression, anxiety, etc) and issues downstream like an inability to generally connect with others. Or a more unique social situation that prevents them from having healthy social relationships.

There’s plenty on the forum already about ‘NTness’ but it would be good to explore it more and how we might look to improve, and accetable compromises non-NT people could make to have healthier social lives. Controversial but it might also be worth talking to transpeople about ‘masking’ gender roles, and to actual high-functioning autists/ADD/chronic anxiety sufferers to see how they ‘mask’ effectively, there’s already some literature surrounding how to do this.

Edit: additionally, a lot of childhood/young adulthood pain causes the ‘abused dog’ phenomenon that leads to some of this unease in social functioning. Perhaps we could find ways of rehabilitating people like this in the same sense we rehabilitate abused dogs by making them used to being treated with care, this could be a solution to much ‘non-NTness’
