Anyone that got a pallate expansion and braces afterwards, did you have to wear a removable metal thing to keep youre upper teeth straight or no?

I had to wear a plastic/gum thingy (it was like squishy) But I know a person that had to wear a metal one

get a self edited transparent retainer it mogs i got mine for 20$
