In the modern day a lot of men suffer from dandruff. Up to 50% of the population suffers from it to some extent, which is absolutely unacceptable.

Why Dandruff Sucks:

It hurts your hair health. We all know that your life=hair and your hair=life, so we want to keep out hair as healthy as possible. Moreover, it'll also on your clothes and look disgusting. Nuff said. You'll also feel uncomfortable because it's like, not fun, yknow? You know what I mean.

In order to fix dandruff we have to diagnose why it happens in the first place. The most common causes are dry scalp and fungal infections. So we'll counter both of them simultaneously.

Fixing Dry Scalp:

1. Stop shampooing everyday.

Instead, shampoo 3-4x a week. If you can get away with it, don't wash your hair at all on the days you don't shampoo (if it doesn't smell bad ofc), but if you must, use cold water.

2. Use Tea Tree Oil and Coconut Oil on your Scalp 2x/Week

On the days you're going to Shampoo your hair WITH SELSUN BLUE use these two components together one after another and let them sit in your head for 10 minutes before showering. Then, rinse is thoroughly. You'll feel great after. Trust me.

3. Use Selsun Blue 2x/ Week

Out of the 4 times per week you're going to Shampoo your hair, use Selsun Blue on 2 out of those 4 days. It's probably the best regular shampoo on the market and is super effective at "undrying" your scalp and getting rid of dandruff. And yes, I am sponsored by them.

4. De-Stress

Chill out. Have you tried relaxing a little?

Fixing Fungal/ Yeast Infections:

1. Use 2% Ketoconazole Shampoo 2x/Week

MAKE SURE NOT TO USE COCONUT OR TREE TEA OIL BEFOREHAND ON THIS DAY. Rinse your hair thoroughly with the shampoo and let it sit for a few minutes. Then wash it well. Getting 2% in the West may require a prescription so if you can't get that, get 1%. Another bonus of this shampoo is that it helps stop balding.

2. Get 15-30 Minutes of Sunlight Daily

The Sun is a powerful thing, and it'll fry the yeast in your scalp alive to make nice little yeast pancakes. Jokes aside, getting sunlight can definitely help with Dandruff, just make sure to follow all the other protocols on this lift because for some people the sun may dry out your scalp a bit.

B-but None Of This Worked??!:

Make sure your diet is in check and limit all hair product usage.

If you've genuinely applied all of these protocols for a month or two and haven't seen significant improvement you should seriously see a medical professional.

That's all, thanks for reading.

good thread

I used selsun blue when I was a kid, tried green recently but its not as good

keto gets rid of dandruff if you use it often enough and properly

I see you recommended it, ok its also important to leave it in the scalp for 5 - 10 minutes before washing out

Yep, leaving it in seriously increases how effective it is.

I used to have dandruff for years that was so bad it looked like somebody poured a container of parmesan cheese on my shoulders. It would also bleed sometimes from being so itchy. Literally no dandruff for months after doing a keto diet. I also don't use any special shampoo or topicals.

There is a difference between dry scalp and dandruff I think, right?
Most people don't realize that tbh
Is your guide only dandruff?
I need a guide for dry scalp tbh.

Dandruff can be puberty/hormone related. I had it 2-3 years ago and now it went away on its own.

I second Selsun Blue. I had perpetual, very grave dandruff all my life and it removed it. That said I have to shampoo with it everyday or it comes back.
