programming a full body split, wondering if i should include neck exercises into my split.

i did wrestling and we did a FUCK ton of a neck movements but it really only increased my neck width from the front

need advice on workouts to workout on the lateral part of my neck, suggestions?

Majority of neck circumference coming from muscles are from UPPER TRAPS, all of your base along the neck and width going all the way down to your clavicles is mainly upper traps too, especially the horizontal fibers. Make sure to work upper traps, for compound lifts OHP/shoulder presses and upright rows are perfect. For isolation you want to do a combination of kelso shrugs + vertical shrugs. 🙂👍

Regular vertical shrugs only work the top vertical fibers of the upper traps and Levator scapular not the horizontal fibers that form the majority of UT and what are the parts that run along the base and upwards of most of your neck.

Of course to maximize neck gains you still want to train neck flexion/extension/lateral flexion too, but still super important to train upper traps a lot to get a really thick neck and build the base and lateral portions too.
