I've been 2,5 months on reta and these are things I've felt that no one mentions before starting reta:
1. Food you used to eat becomes disgusting
I always ate plain meat + plain carbs like chicken + couscous with some spices.
Now I am disgusted by that and feel like I am very shit at cooking (which I am jfl).
I started disliking rice, it started to smell disgusting now matter how I cook it.
All my favorite snacks became mediocre at best, when you eat processed slop the aftertaste feels disgusting all of a sudden.
If you relied on food to boost your dopamine be prepared for a hard crash and to accept that you won't be able to enjoy food as much.
2. You generally feel less emotions
My mother called me an "emotionless psychopath" and said I look at her with "dead eyes" but it felt like usual to me.
Also for some reason it became a lot easier to keep eye contact with people and now I can never loose a staring competition.
3. Depression and insecurities got worse (probably side effect of 2.)
I don't feel reward for getting lean and start focusing on other things that need "fixing"
I almost ordered steroids twice.
If you actually look into effects reta has on the brain it seems more scary than just occasional diarrhea which is preventable anyways if you titrate slowly.
People love to spam "just order reta bro" but no one talks about it in depth. For me I still love the other benefits so it's is worth it for me and I will continue but keep in mind, anything you take can and WILL change your brain chemistry.
