Hey, I just finished a 6 month retainer protocol that fixed overbite and straightened teeth. Can someone give insight on whether I should continue wearing retainers now that everything is done or should I take them off ? Pros and cons and potential to change face even more as I have seen some good results

having an aligned bite is the start of all looksmaxes imo ,keep the retainer on

Keep them on i made the mistake of not wearing them regualry when they took my braces off, because if fell for the mewing cope and people on mewing reddit told me ThAt rEtAinErs hInDeR MeWinG pRoGesS. Which is not true and now i have crooked teeth again and will have to do a second orthodontic treatment :feelswhy:

could you explain why it isn't true, i have a retainer on my lower jaw (a permanent wire) but on my upper jaw i have to wear a night retainer. people tell me to remove my lower retainer because it "prevents" forward growth

in order for your bones to be correctly aligned your bite has to be aligned, say if you took it off and got and more forward lower jaw you would descend cuz u would have an underbite

so i can still get some forward growth even if i wear retainers? you actually gave me a good reason to keep my retainers on

especially if its a night time retainer rather than permanent its easier
