I would go read Kant's critique on Leibniz's intellectualism (amphibology of the concepts of reflection chapter) but I don't fucking have it now. I'm waiting to buy myself monadology, the only Leibniz I've read is Deleuze's the fold, which is one of Deleuze's worst books (unclear, syncretic, trying to both use concepts similar to those of difference and repetition but with the kind of language use of Anti Oedipus and forward, which is infuriating).

And most of the time they'll read something like Camus (all of his philosophical work is utter garbage), Sartre (a little better but mediocre overall and inferior to all other phenomenology), or late Deleuze because he has cache and sounds cool on the surface (not difference and repetition which is his better book, but AO or ATP). And when larping they will, very freely, call themselves existentialist without any actual knowledge of the ontological sense that existence takes from Heidegger onwards (existence is quite exactly being, but for Dasein as the being open to it's possibilities of being in it's essence; and existential/existentiell means the same as ontological/ontic but for when concerned with the entity of Dasein), instead using it in the sense of naive reality: "existence comes before essence because we make our own, I'm a retarded foid I want to suck nigger dick".
