RETINOIC ACID ON CARTILAGE

I've seen many studies claiming that retinoic acid can degenerates Cartilage. I could be wrong
Could someone explain if this would work?

Retinoic acid is tetratogenic through its effects on nuclear transcription of the RAR receptor. Its derivatives include poison like accutane. Avoid it
