retinol VS retinoic acid

what do yall say is better for improving my skin
i found a retinol serum and a retinoic acid 0,1% cream. the serum is cheaper but if the cream is more effective its worth it.
who happen to know about this pls inform me.

Retinol must be converted in the skin to retinoic acid (tretinoin) to activate. If you have any sign of acne, it's better to just use retinoic acid. If you don't have acne at all, then retinol is sufficient

I dont have severe acne just some pimples so ill probably try retinol and see what happens Thx
