should I be using retinol? I'm too pussy to pin but ive been using copper peptide serums from the ordinary in the morning and salicyclic acid at night i dont know if i should add retinol into the mix because ive heard it can make your skin dry and cause acne breakouts. is it worth the risk?

Retinoids such as retinol are pretty good for clear skin, as they increase cell turnover - thus your old, shedded skin falls off faster, and fresh skin comes up sooner, making your skin look healthier overall.

Not to mention, they boost skin collagen (over time tho), so basically you get fewer fine lines and tighter skin on top of that.

When you hear about the dry skin and acne breakouts, people are prolly referring to the 'purge' stage of using retinoids. Micro-clogs are the earliest stage of acne, and basically the 'seed' of acne.

They sit under your skin, and when you increase cell turnover, they get pushed out to the top layer, so more acne and inflamation - however, this is only temporarily before THAT layer sheds and you get a new, healthier layer.

I'm not sure about whether you should pair it with copper peptide serums, you should DYOR on that.

Hope this helped, mark as solution if it did :owo:
