Back when I was 15 (now 18) I got orthodontic treatment to fix a slight overbite caused by a underdeveloped lower jaw. I got both my maxillary first premolars removed then my anterior teeth retracted to shorten the maxillary arch. I'm now kicking my self for not researching the consequences of recessive orthodontics.

Now my current game plan is to reopen the spaces, get dental implants + lower jaw surgery to correct the underveloped jaw. I would be flying Into cali for treatment by Dr. Hang @ Facefocus who is basically the Mike Mew of the west.

Is this endeavor worth my time and pain? I want to hear yalls opinion on my situation before dropping 300$ on a consoltation.

Dental implants?
Will that prevent further bone resorption because I thought its a lifelong process

Orthojewdics got you brutal.
I took contact with the ortho that did the latter part of the process (the first one moved) and she said that expansion is unreliable and that they don’t recommend it

These orthos took my class 1 with overbite and turned it into class 2 molar relation also jfl

Yes titanium implants will prevent further bone resportion. I believe I haven't loss much in the three years sense my treatment as my face looks the same if not better from aging. However there is no way for me to know without a bone graph. The implants in my case would be a preventive measure.

So you got implants + jaw surgery? If you did, how is the aesthetic result and how long did the treatment take?

No lol I'm in your exact situation

Ah shit. Well if I end up going through with the consoltation ilyk. Fuck crooked traditional orthodontist. I wish I could get my parents 5k back :( now they will be spending double :))))

Just get a bimax. That is the only remedy for extractions in a case with facial repercussions
