I’ve seen a lot of great reviews about @RealSurgerymax , but I’ve also come across some horror stories. It feels like there’s a big lack of clarity around the actual botch rate and what causes these issues. I’ve seen results like the ones allegedly done by Giant, but there’s not enough information. How many procedures has he actually done? What do his overall results look like?

Also, why do these horror stories about Giant exist? The guy in the picture above looked better before his mandible implants. I’ve heard Giant works with surgeons like Celal, who have a questionable reputation, but I guess if Giant designs the implants and is present during surgery, maybe Celal’s retardation won’t have as much impact?

Does anyone have more info or can Giant himself explain this? I know Clavicular is planning to have surgery with Giant, and the fact that Clavicular, who’s an influencer, is willing to take that risk and Giant is willing to risk his reputation on a single customer, makes me think Giant has control over whether a surgery is botched or not.

But then how do situations like this happen? (its very clear its giants work, due to the implant design imo)

Is it that Giant doesn’t care about his patients? Has he learned from past mistakes? What’s the full story here?

There’s so much missing info. Does anyone know more about this?

Do you expect every surgery to go perfect every time, hundreds of cases in 5 years without a single unhappy patient or problem? Sounds like you need a GIANT reality check.

The best surgeons quote a 1-2% infection rate (2 out of every 100 implants will get infected.) Since over 1,000 Giant Implants have been placed, and 4 have had infections, then the Giant success rate is MUCH HIGHER than average. So it's stupid to put a spotlight on the 4. One was with a USA surgeon by the way, it's not like they only happen in turkey.

Of course the few patients who have complications will post about it & complain in group chats, while the happy ones just move on with life or hide they got surgery, making the optics look 50/50. But they're really like 99/1 (major complications.)
Minor tradeoffs happen in ALL SURGERIES.

These complications are out of anyones control, CERTAINLY out of the scope of my control as the designer, like infection. They aren't a surprise to the patient. We make it very clear these things can happen before they proceed and they sign that they understand we will not be held responsible (can't sue us). That is the practice with EVERY surgeon in the world. Not a SINGLE surgeon will do surgery on you without you signing such a consent or accept liability for any complications that happen. We will help to treat and fix them, but certain costs are still the patients responsibility, and if they want to be treated elsewhere, thats out of their pocket. Again these are the standards everywhere. If these standards were not in place, or something happened to us every time a complication we have no control over comes about, there would be no one to help you!

Complications happen to every surgeon. If you are searching for a surgeon without complications you are searching for something that doesnt exist. EVERY surgeon with any experience has had NUMEROUS complications, whether they're written online or not.

thank you man, this helped clear things up :)

It's important to understand implants in general have a very high revision rate--40%-50%. Although Giant implants from what I have seen has made some good results too. Make sure you have money for 1-2 revisions and adjunct soft tissue procedures. You also have to keep in mind designing and producing an implant can take 6-12 months.

I wanted to pick your brain about something.

How effective do you think fat grafting is on top of saddled infraorbital implants? Specifically, covering any visible edges or step offs. I've seen this recommended a handful of times but I haven't read anywhere how effective it really is.

It depends on the severity of the step off and skeletonization and thickness of skin and if fat grafting can solve the issue can only be determined on a case by case basis. Generally it does help but it can just as often be a cover-up for a badly designed implant.
