A dive into how Course Sellers are Corrupting the Youth:
(A Short Read on the Tactics and Impacts of Course Sellers)
01 - Introduction:
Alright so this might seem like a water thread which is kind of is, but I think I have a few things to talk about that aren't as talked about when it comes to Course Sellers and their impacts on people. I've been lurking in this sub-forum and been seeing alot of the same thoughts and opinions being thrown around left and right like "Its all mindset" or "It's not the course's fault" which is true to an extent, but there is more to the story to tell. Course seller shave undoubtedly corrupted our entire youth, as you now see everyone wanting to be an entrepreneur (again, not an inherently bad thing, matter of fact, it's a good thing) but it's gotten to the point of toxicity, black and white thinking, and blind trust in these "all knowing" course gurus, and it's having a pretty significant impact on the youth, especially young and oblivious teenagers and its almost creating a psychosis effect to some extent (hence why I titled this thread Course Seller Psychosis). Also please remember, this is just my thoughts, so I'm open to other opinions as well. (This is a shorter thread than I usually make because I realized longer threads aren't read as much unfortunately)

02 - Predatory Methodologies:
So what course sellers am I even talking about? Well think of the big names, brezscales, TJR, Iman Gadzhi, health course sellers, and other niches. The ones that have established themselves as the 'top boss' of their respected niches. These course sellers use a number of psychological methodologies to convince the youth and induce black and white thinking:
Course sellers primarily target young and oblivious teenagers because most don't have the life experience to differentiate between truth or fact, and most blindly believe what they see on social media (not just course sellers, but all things in general) This section is pretty self-explanatory though, as most know that young kids are more gullible and course sellers know this, which is why they intentionally advertise to younger audiences.
Preying on Economic Downturn:This is one of the more clever methodologies that I haven't seen many people talk about, but basically most teenagers will see their parents/caregivers going through a rough time financially + the fact that we are constantly being told how bad the economy is and how we will never be able to buy a house, etc, and course sellers will take advantage of this by intentionally providing 'solutions' to a big pain point most people see their parents facing due to economic factors. So they will say stuff like "If you don't want to be working a 9-5 for the rest of your life and always be having to worry about bills (something most teenagers have seen their parents talk about) "follow this method to get rich" or something along those likes (obv not exact, but it's the psychological conditioning they use).
Us Vs. Them Dynamic:
Lots of media uses the "Us Vs. Them" dynamic which is essentially black and white thinking, and this can be seen in many of the points made by course sellers. For instance, we've all heard course sellers talking about "9-5" and "the system" and demonizing it, (I actually agree with them on this, the system is obviously set-up for everyone to fail and be poor) but if you buy their shitty course, you are suddenly working to "escaping the system" and living life on your own terms" when in reality, your 'slaving" for your customers rather than a boss. In fact, for the first couple of years, you will be even more of a "slave" to the system because statistically, you won't be making enough money and will have to get support in a lot of cases. (Now, this can vary, for example if ur family is rich, then it will be much different, but for the vast majority of ppl, it will stay this way atleast until you start making enough money)
False sense of Uniqueness:
Course sellers make you think your special, like your "awakened" and done being a "corporate slave" when in reality, so many other people think the exact same way, and your close friends who seem like they don't think that way probably do too as they have probably seen the exact same videos on instagram or tiktok that you have and think the exact same way. Now logically, if your gaslit into believing you are some awakened being, you are more inclined to buy their course. Interestingly enough, i've seen this exact same dynamic (similar to the us vs. them) in other niches like health and wellness.
Promise of Economic/Other types of Prosperity:
This is one of the more obvious ones, as course sellers usually promise some sort of economic gain, and will show you screenshots/fake testimonies of people your age (another example of demographic targetting) making an ungodly amount of money when in reality, it's nearly impossible to make the amount of money that some course sellers are claiming with their methods. Take for example TJR, hes claiming you can make your first large sum of money very quickly when most traders can attest that it takes months if not years of learning and discipline to make even half of what these guys are claiming.
Black and White Thinking:
This is the biggest issue by far. Most course sellers have the same main idea that they push: "College = Bad, (debt, corporate slavery, financial ruin) while Entrepreneurship = Good (financial freedom, lambos, etc) when in reality, most of these claims have nuance. For instance, while attending college for a shitty major at a shitty school may provide subpar returns, going to college to go into high-finance or something else will outweigh 99% of entreprpeneurs. Yes, college will give debt but thats why it's important to do well in high-school to get merit aid. And for entrepreneurship, while theoretically, you can make more money, it's not this quick surge of money like the course sellers suggest rather it takes months/years to see progress. Also important to note, most fortune 500 company CEO's went to college (not just any college though, Ivy leagues specifically) so if you can take anything away from this section, its that college could be good if your going to an Ivy league or a top school with merit and going into a very high paying salary and give you good connections.
Exposure:
We are constantly blasted with the same 5 takes by course sellers, and over time it neurologically rewires our brain. As you hear something more and more, your brain physically strengthens those nueral pathways, making it much more difficult to break those pathways meaning its harder to see other perspectives. In turn, this literally causes psychosis which is crazy to me.
03 - Physical/Psychological Impacts:
Lots of these course sellers are selling straight BS, and when these teenagers/young adults fail (a good portion of the time it's because these courses are AI generated and have misleading takes but I also am acknowledging that failure is a part of entrepreneurship) they will blame it on 'mindset' which is true to an extent, but if the course itself is very shitty, mindset isn't the whole picture. Also, after being brainwashed, many of these teenagers/young adults will spend thousands on these courses, which can ruin people financially and most of this stuff can be found on youtube for free anyways. Also, most of these course pushers sell this narrative that you must grind alone and cut off your friends as they are "distractions" which ruins relationships and being a social person is a huge part of entrepreneurship.
Rigid Thinking:Most of these individuals will worship and idolize these figureheads or these ideas, and if you even critique them slightly, they will denounce you as a "goyim" or "brainwashed" or "corporate 9-5 slave" without even considering some of the alternative perspectives (again going back to black and white thinking) And truthfully, it's not even their fault. These course sellers use very strong manipulation tactics on gullible teenagers which want to be financially independent (an inherently good thing) and gaslight them into believing everything they say.
Materalistic Desires:In many of the videos and courses, Course sellers will push a materialistic narrative by showing you all the expensive watches, clothes, cars, etc. This conditions young individuals minds to primarily value material wealth and status (which I don't believe is a bad thing) but should it really be the entire focus of life? I mean if you listen to some of the biggest entrepreneurs, they will say after a point aquiring materalistic items becomes boring, hence why most end up striving for power and control rather than more items.
"Psychosis":Now when I mean psychosis, I don't mean it literally. I mean it in the way where many of these teenagers will blindly defend these course sellers, denounce you as a corporate slave or some other statement for offering a counter opinion, and trust these gurus so much to the point where they are risking their future, which is quite sad because most of these individuals are trying to become financially free (a good thing 100%) but these predatory course sellers are selling them a bunch of BS and convincing them of these ideas which are in most cases harmful.
04 - Conclusion:
Now I want to emphasize that I am NOT against entrepreneurship, in fact, I think it's the best route to take. All I am saying is try to form your own opinions about how to go about financial freedom, and please don't follow these predatory course sellers, as you will loose money 99% of the time. Remember, these course sellers do NOT care about you and just want to rip you off for money, and by doing this, they are actively destroying the youth by putting these ideas into our heads in order to make a quick buck. Also remember the path to being an entrepreneur is long and difficult, and it is most certainly as easy as these course sellers make it out to be.

- Targeting young teens/adults

- Demonizing college, 9-5, etc
- Giving false sense of uniqueness
- Promise of large gains in a short time
- Causing black and white thinking
- Pushing the same ideas over and over
This impacts the youth by:
- Causing economic and social issues
- Unhealthy obsession with material wealth
- Rigid/Black and White Thinking
- Copy and Pasted Personalities
