Instead of names reminiscent of American rock stars, like Elivs, Otis or Tina, Asian tropical storms and typhoons will have names the people of the region will understand and remember. "Longwang," named after the Chinese Dragon King, and "Kirogi," named for a Korean breed of wild geese, are more easily recognized by Asians than Fabio, Waldo or Zeke, names of past tropical storms.
