The witness was excused. After lunch Clark said he wanted to introduce
the photograph and was prepared to make an offer of proof. He had a

Maria Torres was called to the stand. She was the sister of Joseph’s wife

visited with Joseph for a few minutes and left. Ruth was waiting for him
outside. She understood that Ruth was taking him either to the airport or the
bus terminal. She was sure of the date because she had separated from her
husband on April 29, and May 29 marked the end of the first month of her
separation.
