The effects on focussing are nice, but i always get problems with my heart. I even notice some shortness of breath.
My dosage is very low at only 5mg.
What else could i take?

why you are taking ritalin?

Over for ritalincels

This is adrenaline/noradrenaline acting on your heart. If this is such a big problem to you (maybe you are overreacting tho, it is normal for stimulants to elevate HR), you could look into methods for lowering adrenaline. There are natural solutions that are mostly cope tho and then there are beta blockers which block the receptors in your heart responsible for increasing heart rate.

Sounds like your heart might be particularly sensitive to the adrenaline pathways the drug is acting through. Maybe try modafinil though it also acts through a similar pathway who knows it might just effect you less. Are you also this sensitive to other stimulants like caffeine?

Thank you a lot for your imput.
I have heart problems also in adrenaline situations. Sometimes when i am angry, stressed or in flight mode, my heart has unpleasant arrythmias. They go away when i stand still, push out my belly and hold my breath.
2 different cardiologists have checked my heart, but found nothing wrong.
So maybe what you said about adrenaline pathway could be the reason for my problems.

I will look into maybe taking a daily beta blocker.

Yeah man, if that doesn’t work unfortunately I think you should avoid these drugs then as they have been known to be cardio toxic especially to people with cardiovascular sensitivity. You wouldn’t want to cause any unnecessary strain on your heart.
