Roid injections starting to hurt

Running 30g needles, pull with a 23g so the 30g isn't dull its fresh

When I inject 90% of the time Its 0 pain and It doesn't even register in my mind

I injected in the middle/2/3 of my quad and have been doing this for almost 2 months with only 1-3 painful injections, but today all 2 injections were very painful

I just did leg day yesterday, can that be the cause?
