I think it's due to lack of tan and zygos. He didn't increase the length of the maxilla, he just widened it. I think his zygos would be even more prominant if he pulled his maxilla forward.

This. Some people have just bad base and low potential, but its not like he was doing it for aesthetic reasons anyway.

Plus his journey has created so many new knowledge for future looksmaxxers such as : avoiding AGGA like growth appliances, possible assymetric expansion with MSE (if you have that MSDO wont be an option because its a guranteed symmetric expansion) and how to deal with it etc.
