When I was in kindergarten, we had this thing called the accelerated reader program. There were some kids in the program. I asked my teacher back then to join it and for her to give me accelerated reader books. But she never let me. You start at a low level, then as you read more your reading level increases. So everyone starts somewhere. I understand that some kids were reading at a much higher level than they should have, but some were starting at a lower level but were still reading accelerated reader books. I wanted to read those books so bad. But she didn’t let me. I could read alright, but she didn’t let me read the higher level ones. Think about it. How many kids do u know that want to go out of their way to read more books and learn more. She didn’t let me do that. So I have a question. This memory has always haunted me and made me question my intelligence my whole life. My mom told me it was because she had beef with the teacher before so she was taking out her anger on me to get back. And that she just didn’t like me or had some personal issues. But I think the story might be a bit far fetched. I wanted to ask you guys this. Did she not let me read those books because I was too dumb? Or was she just being a bitch?

your over reading it, teachers just wanna fill their status quoa, theres really no downsides to a kid wanting to read something advanced,
so she was just a lazy whore doing the bare minimum.
