You asked me in another topic where I find new music to listen to. I never got to replying to that.

I have 1 friend who I share music with, and he shares music with me. Usually we send each other like 2-3 songs per week. Songs we think the other person would like, but success varies.

Other than that, I listen to 5-6 new techno sets every month. Usually from youtube / soundcloud, there's so many techno DJs and sets you have never listened to and they are filled with songs you have never listened to.

I am going to techno raves ~2 times per month. Most of the DJs that are playing there, I have never heard of before, so I look them up on youtube/soundcloud before I go, listen to their sets, and they become part of these 5-6 new techno sets I listen to every month. If the DJs are good, they will have a couple of songs which draw my attention and I add them to my playlists.

When I hear songs from techno sets that I like, I add them to my playlists. This is my main way of discovering new music nowadays.

Then of course a part is just pure random. You are at some event/bar/club and a nice song is playing. You shazam it, you have a new song.
