Never, EVER, and I mean it, never EVER try to catch a falling blade, NEVER. If you try to do you will learn it the hard way.

One time, I was replacing a natural draft gas water heater.

I dropped the draft hood and stabbed myself in the wrist trying to catch it. With one of the sharp ass little tabs that poke into the top of the water heater. Immediately I started squirting blood all over some dudes basement and he was freaking the fuck out. Funny Shit

That could have been fatal if it went just 4-5mm deeper

Maybe, but I mean it was pretty deep. Had to get stitched up and I could see fat I think. Yellow bubbly shit. Maybe more like if it was 4-5mm to the left or right.
