Sagawa was a 32yo man studying in paris who shot then raped and ate the decaying corpse of Renée Hartevelt, a 25-year-old Dutch student for 7 days
before he could get rid of the corpse the cops caught him
his father was very wealthy and hired a very known lawyer, during the trial he was deemed legally insane and got deported back to japan without facing any punishment
when he arrived in japan the doctors concluded that he was in fact sane so he was released back into society
he became a celebrity staring in porn, exploitation films, attend events as a public speaker etc...
he then made a couple mangas but the most notorious one is "sagawa san" where he illustrates the full attack and what he was thinking before and after in great detail with photos of the crime
it was accepted by okura publishing for distribution for a short while
